​The Charles County Job Developers Alliance hosted its first annual Employer Awards Breakfast. Approximatley 50 people attended, including employers, community partners, state and federal government agencies, the Charles County Chamber of Commerce, and the Tri-County Council.

The following employers were recognized for their leadership in employing and supporting individuals with disabilities in Charles County: Giant/LaPlata, Babies R Us/Waldorf, Cold Stone Creamery/Waldorf, Modell’s/Waldorf, Roy Rogers/Waldorf, Burger King/Waldorf, and Walgreens/LaPlata.

The honored businesses had wonderful things about the employments, and many added that their employees have terrific job satisfaction with many being employed in their job for 3-5 years.
 
The Alliance, formed in 2011, is comprised of staff from Maryland state Division of Rehabilitation Services, Abilities Network, ARC of Southern Maryland, Creative Options, Lt. Joseph P. Kennedy Institute, Melwood, New Horizons Supported Services, Pathways, Spring Dell Center, Charles County Public Schools, Developmental Disabilities Administration, Core Services, DLLR, Charles County Commission for Individuals with Disabilities and Tri-County Council. The Alliance's mission is to place qualified candidates into employment by providing consistent and superior employment services for employers and individuals in Charles County.
