Program Description
This is an eight-week Partnership Training program that will prepare students to work in a modernized warehouse. This program includes classroom and on-the-job training and is taught by an instructor from the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC).
Training curriculum includes:
- Material Storage
- Equipment Handling
- Receiving Incoming Stock
- Preparing Goods for Shipment
- Forklift Safety Certification
- Warehouse Safety Guidelines
Program Requirements
An individual must possess:
- Basic computer literacy
- Clean background or an ability to get bonded
- 3rd-grade Math & 4th-grade Reading Comprehension
- Ability to follow step-by-step directions
- Basic problem solving and observation skills
- Ability to lift 50 pounds (occasionally)
- Private transportation is strongly recommended (most warehouses are not on public transportation lines)
- Ability to tolerate varied temperatures
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
Employment Outlook
Employment opportunities for warehouse technicians are expected to grow by 5% through 2028. Average hourly wage in Maryland is $17.50.

Uniform Requirements
Please list uniforms on the student’s plan. Estimated cost for Warehouse Technician Training uniforms is $150. WTC staff will order uniforms.
Sign Language Interpreting
Please include Communication Services on the student’s plan. Estimated cost for sign language interpreting for Deaf consumers is $24,113. WTC staff will arrange this service.
Transportation
Please include Transportation on the student’s plan. Estimated cost for transportation to internships is $225. WTC staff will arrange this service.
