The costs of tuition and fees (and room and board if approved) are included as Educational Expenses on the
Determination of DORS Financial Assistance for Post-Secondary Education (RS-5b) form as follows.
Community College
Use the following rates for tuition and mandatory fees for consumers attending Maryland public community colleges for a certificate program or Associate's degree:
Exceptions to exceed these rates require approval of the regional director.
Attendance at an Out-of-County Community College
If an individual needs to attend a community college in a different county because the required courses are not available at the in-county community college, inquire if the college to be attended has a special arrangement for reduced tuition in such cases. Request an exception through supervisory channels as needed.
Bachelor's Degree
For a bachelor’s degree at an In-State Public Institution of Post-Secondary Education
Use the following rates for tuition and mandatory fees (and room and board if approved) for students attending Maryland’s four-year public colleges and universities:
Out-of-State and Private Institutions of Post-Secondary Education
The cost of tuition and fees (and room and board if approved) may not exceed the in-state rates for the
University of Maryland, College Park
, unless an exception is warranted and approved by the DORS Director (see
Section 1509 and
Section 1514).
