Driving Rehabilitation Program
The Driving Rehabilitation Program provides evaluations that determines an individual’s potential to drive with or without vehicle adaptations. This program also provides instruction and training on how to drive with or without vehicle adaptations. If an individual requires adaptations to a vehicle in order to drive, a Vehicle Equipment Adaptation Prescription Agreement (VEAPA) will be developed and submitted to specify what vehicle adaptations are required.
Driving Rehabilitation Program staff provide:
- Assistance to DORS consumers who need to navigate the MVA’s Driver Wellness & Safety Division (DWS)/Medical Advisory Board (MAB) system.
- Consultation and guidance to DORS staff through all nine steps involved in Driving Rehabilitation for those who require adapted driving equipment.
Vehicle Modification Program
After the completion of the VEAPA, the Vehicle Modification Program staff collaborates with DORS Procurement for bids/quotes and contract award. This program also provides oversight and guidance of the vehicle modification process through post modification training.
