DORS Automated Message Guidelines
When you know you are going to be away from your email, either for leave or a meeting, be kind to your consumers and colleagues by setting up an Out-of-Office automatic email message in Gmail. This way, if someone emails you, they'll know when you will be back in the office and if there's anyone else they can turn to for assistance in your absence.
Your out-of-office message should include the following:

Out-of-office dates and when you will respond to messages. In most cases, this should be within two business days of returning to the office.

For immediate assistance during regular business hours, please contact [phone number and email of another person in the office].

Example:
Friday, September 6th – Thank you for contacting the DORS Communications office. I am out of the office and will respond to messages by September 10th. For assistance (during normal business hours), or if this inquiry is related to a consumer issue, please call 410-554-9442, or email
dors@maryland.gov. You can find information about DORS and additional contact information on the DORS website at
