Intern with DORS

​DORS is committed to providing internships for college and graduate students interested in becoming employed in the field of rehabilitation. Internships enable these students to learn about working with people with disabilities and providing rehabilitation services from a hands-on perspective. Priority is placed on providing internships for students currently enrolled in rehabilitation counseling programs.

DORS offers internships with staff who provide rehabilitation services to individuals with significant disabilities, including those who are blind and visually impaired and those who are deaf and hard of hearing. These internships are located:

The Staff Development Office manages internships with college/university internship coordinators and arranges placement with DORS staff.



The Vocational Rehabilitation program receives 78.7% of its funding through a grant from the U.S. Department of Education.
For the Federal fiscal year 2024, the total amount of grant funds awarded was $51,885,242.
The remaining 21.3% of the costs ($15,395,878) were funded by State appropriations.
