Intern with DORS

​DORS is committed to providing internships for college and graduate students interested in becoming employed in the field of rehabilitation. Internships enable these students to learn about working with people with disabilities and providing rehabilitation services from a hands-on perspective. Priority is placed on providing internships for students currently enrolled in rehabilitation counseling programs.

DORS offers internships with staff who provide rehabilitation services to individuals with significant disabilities, including those who are blind and visually impaired and those who are deaf and hard of hearing. These internships are located:

• In more than 20 field offices located throughout the state.
• At the Workforce & Technology Center (WTC), a comprehensive interdisciplinary rehabilitation facility in northeast Baltimore.
• At the Disability Determination Services in Hunt Valley, where claims for Social Security disability benefits are adjudicated.

The Staff Development Office manages internships with college/university internship coordinators and arranges placement with DORS staff.
