Help Us Help Others: Volunteer with DORS

The Volunteer Services Program creates community partnerships with friendly service-minded volunteers across Maryland’s 24 counties in DORS’ field offices, Workforce & Technology Center, and Office for Blindness & Vision Services, as well as at DORS headquarters.

Over the past 90+ years, volunteers have contributed countless hours towards the DORS' mission and helped support people with significant disabilities to seek employment. Volunteers provide reader and clerical support, host charitable projects, promote fundraising events, operate the McKenna’s Korner gift shop, manage the Nearly New Shop, and offer assistance in a variety of other positions.

For more information about volunteer opportunities, and the recruitment process, please contact Janice Drakeford the DORS Staff Specialist  for the volunteer services program at 410-554-9162, between 8:00 am – 4:00 pm Monday – Friday or email your inquiries to volunteer.dors@maryland.gov

The word: VOLUNTEER, with a graphic of raised hands in several colors.

Volunteering enables you to help others and improve your overall well-being in the process—it can't get any better than that!
