Health Services

​WTC Health Services include:

  • Diabetic Assessments for Blind/Visually Impaired, ILOB and sighted consumers to determine the consumers' knowledge of Diabetes management, provide individualized Diabetic Education and enhance the overall Diabetic self-management process. Explore various equipment and technology related to blindness and diabetes.

  • Diabetic Education for consumers needing assistance with their daily diabetic self-care, calculating carbohydrates, perform blood glucose checks, ensure safe insulin administration.

  • Health Education as it pertains to employment for consumers in WTC training programs (e.g., basic hygiene, sleep hygiene, medication management, stress management, etc.)

  • First Aid training for DORS staff.

The Vocational Rehabilitation program receives 78.7% of its funding through a grant from the U.S. Department of Education.
For the Federal fiscal year 2024, the total amount of grant funds awarded was $51,885,242.
The remaining 21.3% of the costs ($15,395,878) were funded by State appropriations.
