WTC, 50 Years of Service - 1973 - 2023

DORS' first rehabilitation center, opened on January 8,1973 as the Maryland Rehabilitation Center (MRC) and was one of only eight comprehensive rehabilitation centers in the U.S. The mission of the center was to enable individuals with disabilities to be independent and productive by providing comprehensive rehabilitation services.
On September 7, 2001, the Center's name was changed to the Workforce & Technology Center (WTC), to emphasize its role in assisting job seekers with disabilities to become employed and to recognize it as a leader in applied rehabilitation technology.
